Conventional egg retrieval, which lasts about 5 to 10 minutes, is performed in deep sedation and under the supervision of an anesthesiologist with the guidance of vaginal ultrasound. With the help of a set of negative pressure puncture suction system, the doctor will direct a needle to puncture matured follicles and draws out the follicular fluid and eggs. The eggs will be transferred to the incubator, where they are cultured for 3-6 hours before they can be fertilized. CEF has a team of experienced anesthetist, who will perform anesthesia on patients during egg retrieval procedure to make sure the patient feel comfortable throughout the procedure.
